Event Prop Shop is based here at Mamhilad. The business is owned by husband and wife team Jayne and Steve Bancroft and they provide themed prop hire packages for luxury events and parties.

Having previously worked at Disney World Florida, Steve said: “Jayne and I have run our own corporate entertainments business for 20 years. During this time we have curated a huge diversity of themed props and accessories. We originally specialised in corporate events and parties held at the Celtic Manor Resort, as well as in and around London.

“After providing our services to some high profile events in London and the South East, we soon began to develop a reputation for styling children’s birthday parties, many in the Asian community.

It’s now not uncommon for us to see an entire circus and fairground, set up in a private garden with a big top, the dodgems, helter-skelter, trapeze artists and all the other circus acts involved…..for a one year old’s birthday!

“Children’s luxury parties is a huge market and it is very rewarding but our props are also used on a regular basis for corporate events, in videos for music artists such as Sophie Ellis-Bexter and on numerous tv shows for BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Boom Cymru.”

Jayne added: “After  almost two years of  severe restrictions on events and large gatherings, it has been amazing this last few months to be able to resume servicing events. We are seeing a huge pent up demand for celebrations, which is excellent news for our long term future.

“We’ve come a long way in the last 20 years since Steve was at Disney World and I was working on cruise ships in the Caribbean and Alaska. Our family values are the core foundation to our business ethics and we pride ourselves on constantly striving to expand our range of props and themes. Most of our products are hand made by a member of our own family, using traditional skills to build and paint unique items that aren’t available form any other supplier. We also try and use renewable resources and reclaimed materials whenever possible to reduce our carbon footprint by offering many environmentally friendly products.

“We’ve been based at Mamhilad for the last three years and the business park has given us some excellent opportunities to expand and grow.  The facilities, grounds, transport links and security here are all superb. We also enjoy a trip to the café but what we’re most grateful for is the support that we had during Covid. It made a real difference for us and reinforced our commitment to investing in our long-term future here at Mamhilad Park Estate.”
