Mike Whitson has joined Johnsey Estates as a Business Development Consultant.
Born and bred in Torfaen, Mike joins the team from the Torfaen Strategic Economic Forum where he was undertaking a ‘UK Shared Prosperity Fund’ funded project to assist with the Forum’s aim of sustainably growing the Torfaen economy.
Mike’s career has included sales, marketing and project management roles. He also co-founded a sports and leisure clothing manufacturing business based in Torfaen.
Mike said: “I did semi-retire in 2020 but I enjoy working with businesses in Torfaen and want to do what I can to help the region prosper. Mamhilad is such a great asset, so this is a brilliant opportunity for me to wave the flag, spread the word and encourage more businesses to thrive at this very special business park.”
Mike is a keen sportsman and outdoor activity enthusiast. He represented Wales at Junior International Level and played for both Newbridge RFC and Neath RFC in the 1980s and 1990s. He is now a Trustee and Membership Secretary of Crawshay’s Rugby Club.
